The festival opens with multi-instrumentalist jazz musician Attila Korb’s international band, reviving tunes of the unfairly forgotten bass saxophone virtuoso Adrian Rollini, and paying tribute to the cream of hot jazz as well as the major figures of the 30’s swing.

Equally exciting will be the concert of the Coquette Jazz Band, a group formed by students of the jazz college in Graz. The band, which was founded by Mátyás Papp and Mátyás Bartha, will play evergreen tunes from the swing era, featuring one of the most sought-after European swing musicians, the Dutch saxophone player Frank Roberscheuten as a guest, who will surely make the experience even more memorable. 

Last, but not least, Budapest Jazz Club’s big band will share the stage with a truly mind-blowing artist on the closing day of the festival.

Swedish Gunhild Carling’s name may be familiar from the world-famous Postmodern Jukebox, the formation creating swing covers of pop songs. She is an accomplished player of several instruments ranging from the trumpet to the trombone and the recorder – in fact, she is nothing short of a ‘one-woman band’.

What is more, she will even sing for us, which means that she will surely blow the audience away with her exceptional artistic versatility.
