Coronavirus: Treatment Arrives From China
Another one million favipiravir pills for treating Covid-19 patients have arrived from China, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó announced online yesterday.

He said he is in constant negotiations with foreign partners on preventions against the pandemic, not only about the procurement of vaccines, but also drugs to help treat patients more effectively.

Favipiravir is a drug that, when portioned adequately to already symptomatic patients, has a good chance of stopping symptoms getting worse, the minister said.

He indicated that talks on additional purchases are under way with several manufacturers, adding that another shipment will arrive from Japan at the end of the week, and further announcements are to be expected.
