His practice is in domestic and international criminal law as well as private international law; he has defended in several high-profile cases over the years. He is fluent in English, French and Hungarian.

He is a member of the presidency of the Pest County Bar Association and also member of the Ministry of Justice Bar Examination Commission specializing in Criminal Procedural Law examinations.

He is also a guest lecturer at the faculty of law of ELTE University in Budapest, where he presents International Criminal Law and Cross Border Crimes to international students.
 

1. When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?

I was born in Canada, grew up in Toronto, Montreal and Bermuda. I arrived to Hungary in the summer of 1996, part of my heritage is Hungarian, and there was also a woman involved…

2. Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?

I studied in France and in Switzerland previously.

3. What surprised you most about Hungary?

The multifaceted nature of the country and the resilience of its people…

4. Friends are in Budapest for the weekend - what must they absolutely see and do? 

A visit to the Etyek wine region close to Budapest, introduce them to the marvels of Hungarian cuisine, and visit some wonderful sights in Budapest and neighbouring areas such as Szentendre.

5. What is your favourite Hungarian food?

A beef Gulyás soup is amongst the preferred dishes as well as a traditional chicken paprikas… Lest we forget Flódni for dessert.

6. What is never missing from your refrigerator?

A bottle of Pol Roger Champagne...

8. What do you miss most from home? 

The crisp winters with plenty of snow…

A bit of both… I recently completed “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance” by Robert M. Pirsig.

Definitely a night person…

Homelessness

Residing in Buda, living it up in Pest.
