Coronavirus: Testing Of Teachers Hits Snags In Hungary
The emergency task force said on Thursday that testing is under way in every county and staff in every school, kindergarten and nursery will have the opportunity to be tested for the Covid-19 virus.

Mayor Sándor Szaniszló of Budapest’s 18th District wrote on Facebook that the first voluntary testing of kindergarten and school staff ended on Thursday. Most people opted to be tested, and 18 tested positive for the coronavirus, representing 3% of the total.

In the Fourth District one infected person was found in each of two kindergartens and four in one institution.

The Democratic Union of Teachers told HVG that there is a small town where 35 out of the 70 teachers at the primary school had been tested and ten were found to be infected.

Reports indicate that many teachers are refusing to be tested because they will receive only 60% of their pay if they are forced to go into quarantine.

They may receive full pay only if they can prove that they contracted the illness at their workplace.
