Paperwork to Cost More than Teachers in Hungary Get After Pay Hike?
The Christian Democratic People's Party (KDNP) parliamentary group leader criticised the government's teacher pay rise on Sunday, highlighting the gap between its 25 percent campaign promise and the 0.4 percent reality -- an average increase of 3,000 forints (EUR 8.5).

Bence Retvari, writing on social media, noted that the starting allowance for new teachers would rise by just 40 forints, from 11,660 forints to 11,700 forints.

He recalled that under the Fidesz-KDNP government, the average teacher salary had risen from 215,000 forints to over 900,000 forints.
