Hungary is third in the world for adult-film performers per capita - right after Czechia and Latvia - a ranking that often surprises many expats. The La Femme International Film Festival Europe (LAFIFFE), focusing on female filmmakers, will be held in Budapest for the first time, and nominations are being accepted in eleven categories.
The 22nd Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival kicks off with a screening of Living Together, Of Course..., a documentary about an Israeli-Palestinian stand-up comedian. This year’s festival runs from November 11 to 19 and will take place in Budapest as well as seven other cities around Hungary.
The Cinemira International Children’s Film Festival is Hungary’s only event dedicated to films for children and teenagers. This year, the festival expands to two weekends to reach a wider young audience. Cinemira TEEN takes place from October 8-10 at Akvárium Club in central Budapest, while Cinemira KIDS, for ages 4 to 12, will be held on October 23-24 at Millennium Park.
