Hungarian Fashion Designers to Explore Export Markets
The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (MDDÜ) and the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA) have signed a co-operation agreement to support the development of the domestic fashion and design industry.

One of the strategic goals of the design agency is to strengthen the domestic manufacturing base.

According to 2019 data, Hungary’s nearly 7,400 textile and clothing companies employed 38,000 people, and 80% of their revenues came from exports, which totalled Ft 424 billion.

The MDDÜ has launched a mentoring programme for designers with the participation of HEPA, which helps Hungarian ventures to strengthen the foreign market activities of Hungarian companies.

The agreement could boost the export potential of local fashion and design firms, said MDDÜ director Zsófia Bata-Jakab.
