Budapest Stock Exchange Hits Unprecedented Heights
BUX, the index of the Budapest Stock Exchange, closed at 52,288.87 points, a new historic high, on Wednesday.

The index rose by 662 points or 1.3% percent from the previous day.

The price of OTP shares also reached a historic high value of Ft 18,000.

The BUX has outperformed its European counterparts, analyst Lajos Török of brokerage Equilor commented.

The positive GDP data released on Tuesday continues to support growth on the stock market, while the eurozone inflation data published on Wednesday, which was lower than forecast, also had a positive effect, he added.
