Net Corporate Borrowing in Hungary Reaches HUF 158 Billion
Net corporate borrowing from local lenders, including subscriptions of bonds, reached HUF 158.0bn in March, monthly data released by the National Bank of Hungary (NBH) on Wednesday show.

Companies repaid net HUF 92.0bn in forint loans and took out net HUF 15.7bn in FX loans. Net subscriptions of corporate bonds by lenders came to HUF 234.3bn.

Corporate lending stock stood at HUF 15,570bn at the end of the month. Exchange rate changes added HUF 198.9bn to the stock.

Companies made net deposits of HUF 313.3bn on their forint accounts, but took out net HUF 365.3bn from their FX deposits during the month. Corporate deposit stock stood at HUF 17,426bn at the end of the month.

The average interest rate on forint corporate loans, up to the equivalent of EUR 1m, stood at 8.14pc in March, down from 8.38pc in the previous month and 8.33pc twelve months earlier.
