'World-Class' Fair Grounds, Conference Centre Completed in Budapest
A “world-class” complex of fair grounds and conference facilities has been completed at Budapest’s Hungexpo area, Expo Park has announced.

The 55 billion forint (EUR 155m) project was completed within two years as planned, the state-owned project manager said.

The complex includes a 25,000sqm conference centre, including an auditorium for over 2,000 people, as well as a 2,500sqm exhibition hall and a 2,300sqm roof terrace.

As part of the project, 12,000sqm of parkland has been renewed and a new 1,000sqm park added.

The company expects to organise 200 conferences, with 500,000 participants and 2 million visitors a year.

The new facilities have already hosted events linked to the recent International Eucharistic Congress and also will be home to the upcoming Planet Budapest sustainability expo and world conference.
