Hungary Introduces Quarantine for Travellers from Southern Africa
Due to the appearance of the much more contagious omicron variant, Hungary is introducing restrictions on travellers from the South African region, the details of which were published in the Hungarian Gazette on Saturday.

The regulations, taking effect from Monday, will cover Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland and Zimbabwe.

According to the government decree, Hungarians arriving from the region must undergo a medical test upon arriving in Hungary and, if the suspicion of coronavirus infection is detected, quarantine will be ordered.

Hungarians arriving from the region may be placed in official house quarantine for 14 days even if they are not suspected of being infected.
