Closed public spaces include shopping malls, museums, theatres and cinemas.
In the case of service providers, a mask will be mandatory everywhere where more than five people are regularly present in a room. School principals are given the right to decide whether to wear a mask.
The Budapest mayor’s office announced earlier on Thursday that it would make mask-wearing mandatory in closed public spaces in the city.
The cabinet also decided that immunity certificates will be required to attend events with more than 500 people, Gulyás said.
In addition, healthcare workers will be required to have a third inoculation.
According to mathematical forecasts, the fourth wave of the epidemic could peak at the end of November or early December, Gulyás said.
Only inoculations constitute substantive protection against the virus and international experience shows that the coronavirus can be stopped with a third inoculation, he added.

Since the first outbreak, 998,488 infections have been registered, while the number of fatalities has risen to 32,780.
Fully 837,584 people have made a recovery.
There are 59,177people in official quarantine, while the number of tests taken stands at 8,006,581.
