Budapest Residents Are Biggest Spenders in Hungary During Q1
Residents of Budapest spent HUF 411,000 in shops in the first quarter, 22% over the HUF 337,000 national average, according to data compiled by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

Residents of Győr-Moson-Sopron County, in the west of the country, were the second-biggest spenders during the quarter, generating a retail turnover of HUF 391,000 per resident.

Retail turnover per resident was lowest in underdeveloped regions in the north and east of the country, reaching HUF 275,000 in Békés County, HUF 257,000 in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County, and just HUF 248,000 in Nógrád County.
