Woman Awakes After Nine Years in Coma, Following Infection in Hungarian Hospital
A woman, a mother of two, has regained consciousness after being in a coma for nine years, the tabloid Blikk reports.

The woman fell into a coma after contracting a bacterial infection in hospital following the removal of a benign brain tumour.

The woman’s mother said the patient cannot yet look after herself but responds to a few things and is in a so-called minimal state of consciousness.

Her mother said they have received a promise that the patient will soon be transferred to a rehabilitation institute, where she will receive a cranial implant and will be taken to Barcelona for specialist treatment.

The mother is suing the hospital because of the infection, demanding compensation of Ft 100 million. Negotiations are under way.
