Quick Inspiration: Lenti Spa Gets HUF 2.6 Billion Green Makeover in Hungary - Why Visit?
Hungary is making a major investment of HUF 2.6 billion (around €6.5 million) in the thermal and wellness spa in Lenti (south‑west Hungary) to upgrade its energy efficiency and sustainability. Public Administration and Rural Development Minister Tibor Navracsics announced that the project is being funded with European Union and national development support, reflecting Hungary’s commitment to boosting local tourism and eco‑friendly infrastructure.

The works aim to make the spa significantly more energy efficient by switching much of its heating from gas to thermal water and installing a large solar power plant. The upgrade is expected to be completed by the end of 2027, by which time about a third of the spa’s electricity will come from solar energy.

Navracsics highlighted that Lenti’s tourist appeal is gradually increasing. A new four‑star hotel has recently opened, a modern medical centre has been developed, and the current investment will allow the complex to operate more economically and sustainably.

Mayor László Horváth emphasized that the shift to greener energy sources will benefit both visitors and the local community, while demonstrating Hungary’s focus on supporting regional tourism through substantial funding.

Where to Stay: Thermal Hotel Balance Lenti

One of the main accommodation options for visitors is Thermal Hotel Balance, a four-star wellness hotel directly connected to Lenti Thermal Spa and the Szent György Energy Park by a covered corridor — so you can walk straight from your room to the spa facilities.

The hotel offers:

* Comfortable modern rooms with air-conditioning, minibar and Wi-Fi.
* Free access to outdoor and indoor thermal pools, experience world and sauna facilities included in the spa.
* Wellness services like massages, steam rooms and fitness equipment.
* On-site restaurant and lobby bar, plus summer terrace facilities.

Other options in and around Lenti include smaller guesthouses such as Lenti Thermal Panzió and several countryside accommodations popular with hikers and families.
