The selection process is expected to take more than a year and a half.

According to the university, the goal is to set an example for other Hungarian higher education institutions with this selection method.

“We are a national institution, but arts and design have an international language, said Gergely Böszörményi-Nagy, president of the MOME foundation that governs the university.

He added: “We can do the most for Hungary if we build a university where our students have the greatest chance of international success. For this, we need the best rector available, coming from Hungary, the region or anywhere in the world”.
