Hungarians Accused in Huge Dublin Drug Bust
Irish police are questioning two Hungarians who allegedly smuggled €8 million worth of heroin into the country in a small plane.

The two men arrested are Hungarian nationals posing as businessmen, according to the Irish Sun newspaper.

An investigator told the Irish Sun that the two men are known to Europol and law enforcement agencies across Europe, as they are linked to several international criminal gangs.

Investigators believe the Hungarian pilot used the small aircraft to smuggle shipments of heroin, cocaine, and cannabis across Europe.

Reports indicate that the criminal organisation involved in the case is the Kinahan organised crime gang, based in Dublin.

Irish police posted a photograph of the seized Hungarian plane on their Facebook page.

HVG reached the owner of the aircraft, who did not deny that the plane seized in the operation belonged to him.

He said he had lent the plane to a friend a week ago, as on previous occasions, but was not aware of the incident and had not yet been contacted by authorities.
