According to turizmus.com this year, the week long event (organized between September 30 and October 6) offers over 100 free programs for professionals, families, and children. Activities include guided tours, forest school programs, sports competitions, concerts, and mountain railway trips, allowing attendees to engage with Hungarian forests in a rural setting.
A highlight of the week is the launch of the “Backpacks in the Forest” program, aimed at kindergartens and teachers, introducing young children to forest education through specially designed backpacks filled with educational tools.
Registration for this program opens on September 30, coinciding with the closure of the “Forest Bike Trail of the Year” poll, with results to be announced on October 1.
Additionally, the 28 Forests’ Week central event will take place on October 1 and 2, featuring forest education training for teachers, foresters, and environmental educators at the 25th anniversary of the Ravazd Forest School.
The detailed schedule can be found on the event’s page, showcasing the diverse opportunities available to explore and appreciate Hungary’s forests.
