Uma Thurman Coming to Hungary: Action-Thriller Ballerina Overdrive to Film in Budapest
The upcoming action-thriller Ballerina Overdrive, set to star Uma Thurman and Lana Condor, will begin filming in Budapest. Directed by Vicky Jewson and written by Kate Freund, the film promises a gripping story of survival as a troupe of ballerinas finds themselves in a deadly fight for their lives.

Produced by Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, Bill Bindley, Mike Karz, and Piers Tempest, “Ballerina Overdrive” follows a group of young dancers whose bus breaks down en route to a dance competition, forcing them to take refuge at a remote inn.

What begins as an inconvenience quickly escalates into a harrowing battle for survival as the ballerinas face unexpected dangers and must rely on their strength, agility, and teamwork to escape.

The cast includes Uma Thurman, known for her iconic roles in action films, alongside rising stars Lana Condor (“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”), Iris Apatow, Millicent Simmonds (“A Quiet Place”), Maddie Ziegler, and Avantika.

With a mix of seasoned talent and fresh faces, the film is set to deliver intense performances that blend elegance with raw action.

Production is led by 87North, known for their expertise in high-octane films, alongside Gulfstream Pictures, The Veterans, and CAA Media Finance.

Filming in Budapest, a city renowned for its stunning architecture and film-friendly environment, underscores Hungary’s growing reputation as a key destination for major international productions.
