Free Events: Bartók Fest in Budapest, 29 August
Returning for its fifth edition, one of Budapest’s most vibrant annual urban festivals is back in District XI, at Szent Gellért tér through Műegyetem rakpart and Budafoki út to the BME Garden.

This year’s festival explores the theme of invisibility, encouraging visitors to discover people, stories, work and social phenomena that often go unnoticed in everyday life.

The music programme starts at noon and runs into the evening, featuring performances by Pozsár Máté & Péter Ajtai Duo, Anikó Für & Róbert Hrutka, Csinszka, WAVY, Csaknekedkislány, BLUSTER, 30Y and Orkestra Budimpesta.

More than 40 civil organisations and local initiatives will take part, offering over 80 programmes.

These will include city walks, a Living Library, yoga sessions, creative workshops, a second-hand market, digital detox activities, as well as a range of community and awareness-raising programmes.

The festival runs throughout the day and is completely free to attend.
