Free Events at House of Music in Budapest to Celebrate World Music Day
The House of Music Hungary celebrates World Music Day on October 1 with free concerts and a film screening, reports Turizmus.com.

From 1 p.m., visitors are invited to a classical music concert, in the afternoon a pop-up jazz concert and a concert film screening.

In addition, the family program organized on October 5 will also be dedicated to the celebration of music,
the institution said.

The “Lunchtime” series will feature performances by the Era Nova String Quartet, a group of Liszt Academy students. They will perform Edvard Grieg’s String Quartet in G minor and Béla Bartók’s “Romanian Folk Dances.”

The Zádor Trio, which will perform in the lobby from 2:30 p.m., will play a repertoire of original compositions and jazz standards, including everything from Charlie Parker’s bebop classics to swing hits and Oscar Peterson’s rarely played, serious compositions.

Recorded in the House of Music Hungary in 2023, the concert, titled “There Is War,” features music by János Másik and words by Géza Bereményi, recalling their collaborations with Hungarian musician Tamás Cseh. The concert film can be seen in the auditorium from 3:30 p.m.

Online since 2014, this source states its aim as "to provide a complete, unbiased picture of Hungary”. It continues by acknowledging this “does not necessarily mean that our writers do not have their own opinions, sometimes reflected to a degree in the articles they publish”, and it's really worth readers keeping that in mind. Another stated aim is to become ‘the leading English-language news portal of Hungary’, a position held for 20 years by good old independent XpatLoop! Still our team has no issue with positively highlighting one or two useful articles published by Hungary Today here with permission for your interest.
