Travel Insurance Premiums in Hungary Could Rise 5-6% in Summer
Hungarians travelling abroad this summer can expect to pay 5-6% more for travel insurance premiums, insurance broker Insura.hu said on Tuesday, according to a report by MTI.

Insura.hu’s own data show travellers paid HUF 742/day, on average, for policies covering trips abroad in January-May, up from HUF 704 in the same period a year earlier.

Last summer, approximately 32% of travel policies were for trips to Croatia, some 14% covered visits to Italy and about 9% travel to Austria.

Data from the National Bank of Hungary show revenue from travel insurance premiums rose 14.3% to HUF 22.1 billion in 2024.
