A weekend where the joy of movement meets the treasures of TokajHegyalja’s gastronomy – all spiced with a dash of irony, generous laughter, and world-class wines. This isn’t your average road race – it’s a state of mind.

Wine Run places vineyards, wine, and culinary delights at its heart, all delivered in the most authentic fashion, with the collaboration of Mád’s finest wineries. Participants can choose between two distances – 6.5 km or 12 km – as they run through one of the most picturesque villages of the historic Tokaj wine region.

Along the course, runners will encounter tasting stations offering not just fine wines, but exceptional bites and even mini-concerts.

The two-day celebration will brought life by gastronomic contributions from some of Hungary’s top rated restaurants: Anyukám Mondta Étterem (Encs), Horgonyzó Kisvendéglő (Tiszalök) Karám Bor & Gasztro (Bodrogkeresztúr) and Macok Bistro (Eger) – all decorated with Michelin and Dining Guide recognitions, and other prestigious culinary awards.

Naturally, the wine experience will be second to none: runners will be greeted by curated selections from Mád’s most iconic wineries, including Barta Pince, Holdvölgy Experience, Maison aux Pois, Royal Tokaji, Pelle Pince, Szarka Pince, Szepsy, and Zsirai Pincészet.

The weekend's events get underway on Friday, October 3 at 6 PM with a hearty Pasta Party – the official pre-run carb-load – while the main Wine Run race begins Saturday, October 4 at 10 AM. To cap it all off, the weekend concludes with a live concert and an After Party to seal the festival spirit.

The registration fee includes entry to the Pasta Party, participation in the Wine Run, gourmet offerings and wine tastings at refreshment stations, and access to the Saturday evening concert and closing party. Running in Mád is a unique experience – but even if you’re not lacing up, the weekend is a true culinary adventure!

From open cellar doors to gourmet bites and local wine tastings, Mád welcomes everyone who comes for the flavors, not the finish line.

Throughout the weekend, the entire village of Mád transforms into a festive hub: open cellar doors, food tastings, and family-friendly programs await not just the runners, but also those who prefer a wine glass to a bib number.
