According to the results, respondents said that in sectors such as the food industry, retail trade and energy majority ownership by foreigners would pose "sovereignty risks", and therefore they "should be retained in Hungarian hands".
Eighty-five percent of respondents said that Hungarian majority ownership was crucial in the food industry, while 81 percent expressed the same opinion for retail trade, 80 percent for energy, 78 percent for construction and 70 percent for finance.
A high percentage of respondents would also keep the defence industry, air traffic, telecommunications and the media in Hungarian hands, the report said.
Fully 72 percent of respondents also said that Hungarian ownership in those sectors "strengthens Hungary's resilience", the office said.
