- Hungary Around the Clock
This year, over 120 factories throughout the country are opening their doors for the event, offering both online and in-person tours and presentations. It's a fantastic opportunity to see beyond the gates and gain insight into the production processes, operations, and innovative solutions driving companies in various industries and sectors.
An Excellent Opportunity for Expats and Career Changers
The Night of Modern Factories is completely free to attend, but registration is required on the official Modern Factory Night website, as the number of places is determined by the individual factories.
For expats, the event provides a fascinating look into the backbone of the Hungarian economy. It’s also an exceptional opportunity for anyone interested in a career move, or for young people exploring their professional options, to see how modern technology is reshaping industrial production in Hungary.
In recent years, the program has grown significantly, attracting thousands of visitors annually and becoming one of the most successful community events in Hungarian industry.
Major Players and New Participants
The lineup of participating companies is strong, featuring well-known names that operate locally, such as:
-
Coca-Cola HBC Hungary Ltd.
-
Magyar Suzuki Ltd.
-
Márka Üdítőgyártó Kft.
-
Caola Ltd.
Several facilities are joining the program for the first time on November 14th, including Michelin Hungária Kft. in Nyíregyháza, Béres Gyógyszergyár Zrt., Sopron Brewery, and Magyar Vagon Vasút Zrt. The event is still open for more companies to sign up and participate.
From Traditional to 'Smart Factory'
László Hunyadi, Deputy State Secretary for SME Development at the Ministry of National Economy, emphasized that the program's core goal is to connect the world of innovation and technology with the public, especially young people and businesses.
He noted that the Night of Modern Factories goes beyond simple tours; it’s a showcase of how essential industrial companies are evolving and finding new ways to innovate. Visitors will see firsthand how a traditional plant can transform into a “smart factory.” As he put it, the event is a joint learning process that demonstrates that the factories of the future are already operating all around us in Hungary.
Tamás Fehérváry, CEO of the Hungarian Economic Development Agency, echoed this sentiment, highlighting that the success of the 2017 launch is rooted in knowledge transfer.
The visits offer career starters, university students, and even the family members of company employees a valuable look into the day-to-day operations of these key facilities.
