Hungarian Banks Report Strong 2025 Profits

Erste Bank's profit hit HUF 150 billion, while Granit Bank's reached HUF 19.2 billion, as announced on Thursday.
Erste Bank Highlights
Net interest revenue rose 4% to HUF 199.4 billion, with commissions and fees up 18% to HUF 142.5 billion.
ROE improved to 23.6%, client loans grew 11% to HUF 2,737 billion, and retail lending surged 19% with strong mortgage demand.
Corporate lending stabilized, NPL ratio fell to 1.6%.
Granit Bank Highlights
Total assets climbed 12% to HUF 1,785 billion, outperforming peers with an NPL ratio of just 0.2% versus the sector's 2.1%.
Cost-to-income ratio stood at 38.2%, below the 45.3% average.
Expansion included 11,000 new Romanian accounts and plans for Spain.
