Hobbies: traveling, cooking, reading, camping, hiking, skiing, and shopping
Future growth areas: I want to develop research based, cutting edge instructional techniques, to be used in teaching the children of Hungary, the English skills that they need and can use to become lifelong learners and successful world citizens.


1. When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?
I arrived August 2007 with my husband to teach English in a Hungarian High School.

2. Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?
No, this is our first expat adventure.

3. What surprised you most about Hungary?
I was surprised by the overall pessimism of the Hungarian people towards their own beautifully historic country.

4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do?
They must see Budapest at night from the castle, eat dinner at Deryne Restaurant at Krisztina Ter, and relax in the hot waters of the Szecheny Baths.

5. What is your favourite Hungarian food?
Gombaleves (Hungarian Mushroom Soup)

6. What is never missing from your refrigerator?
Fresh fruits and vegetables from my local market

7. What is your favourite Hungarian word?
Persze! (Sure! Of course!)

8. What do you miss the most from home?
Free parking in front of our flat, customer service, and a good T-Bone Steak

9. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?
I would love to be a chef and own a restaurant.

10. What's a job you would definitely never want?
I would hate to be the metro ticket inspector or the parking meter police.

11. Where did you spend your last vacation?
Italy and France

12. Where do you hope to spend your next one?
Istanbul Turkey

13. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?
The Doobie Brothers

14. What can't you resist?
Dark chocolate and time with my husband, David

15. Red wine or white?
Red, especially from the Villany Region- Jackfall Wines are the best!

16. Book or movie?
The book is always better!

17. Morning person or night person?
I love both!!!!!!

18. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?
Working with the homeless and eliminating racism.

19. Buda side or Pest side?
I love both! I live on the Pest side and work on Buda side, but I shop, explore, and enjoy both sides. That is the reason we live in Budapest.
