1. When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?
I first arrived here in 2009. My family is from Budapest and Zalaegerszeg, and as a dual citizen I try to visit as often as possible. In fact, I will be back here in June.
2. Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?
Nem, but I am open to the idea of it.
3. What surprised you most about Hungary?
People talk about a lot of wonderful places in the world, but when it comes to Hungary there is simply no comparison. What surprised me the most was drinking Palinka for breakfast in Zalaegerszeg!
4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do?
They must visit the Széchenyi baths, drink palinka and dance the night away! Or if they can make it down for a weekend at Lake Balaton, they will experience something that will change their life forever.
5. What is your favourite Hungarian food?
Paprikás Csirke!
6. What is never missing from your refrigerator?
Fish.
7. What is your favourite Hungarian word?
Király
8. What do you miss most from home?
Absolutely nothing! Hungary is like Avatar!
9. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?
A travel writer for Lonely Planet.
10. What's a job you would definitely never want?
Anything where I don’t get to be creative, or talk to people. I don’t like how people change when they put on a suit.
11. Where did you spend your last vacation?
Siófok, Budapest, Athens, Santorini, Crete and Mykonos.
12. Where do you hope to spend your next holiday?
Debrecen, Győr, Budapest, Rhodos and Mykonos. I love Hungary and Greece too much to ever visit elsewhere!
13. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?
2pac, The Beach/Hackers, and making music.
14. What can't you resist?
Travelling and exploring.
15. Red wine or white?
Bull’s Blood of course!
16. Book or movie?
Book, definitely! I think as certain technology progresses, the desire or need to read decreases, which is dangerous for youth the world over.
17. Morning person or night person?
I don’t sleep much, and I can say that I am equally as active during the morning and at night!
18. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?
Racism.
19. Buda or Pest side?
Pest! Maybe that will change when I’m older, but the nightlife, bars and streets are too intriguing to resist. Budapest is a city of flawless character- everybody has an incredible story to tell, and no matter where you end up there is something incredible to learn at every corner.
20. What would you say is your personal motto?
You only live once, there are no second chances, live as though there is no tomorrow.
