1. Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Budapest; I spent the first half of my thirty years in Buda and the second in Pest.

2. If you could be an expat anywhere in the world, where would you choose?

San Francisco, Berlin or Tel Aviv

3. What would you miss most if you moved away from Hungary?

The still vivid remnants of Mitteleuropa’s incomparable atmosphere.

4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do?
It seems to be a easy question for someone who is running thematic tours, but it isn’t. As my profession is to find the best experience for those who would like to find adventures in Budapest, I feel certain that it highly depends on their cultural background. A senior psychologist from the Netherlands or a young startupper from California would be passionate about wholly different sights and activities. However, the Children’s Railway is a safe bet for almost everyone, especially on a scorching hot summer day.


5. What is your favourite food?
Paprikás krumpli with tejföl and pickles, one of the best Hungarian soul foods, made of potato, paprika, garlic, sausages and frankfurters topped with lots of sour cream.


6. What is your favourite sport / form of exercise?

Frankly, I prefer watching sports rather than performing them. I’m a passionate fan of MTK Budapest, a 125-year old football club that my ancestors have supported for almost a century.

7. What is your favourite place in Hungary?
The Sea of Stones in Szentbékálla, near Balaton’s Northern shore. It’s the most tranquil place that I’ve ever seen in my life.


8. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?

Budapest’s mayor at the end of the 19th century - a dream that could never be fulfilled.

9. What’s a job you would definitely never want?

Being an undertaker.

10. Where did you spend your last vacation?

That was our honeymoon in March in USA’s West and East coast: San Francisco and New York

11. Where do you hope to spend your next one?

At the moment I would be more than happy if I could spend a week in our vacation home near lake Balaton.

12. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?

Band: Kispál és a Borz - I still know all of their hits by heart.
Film: The Godfather
Hobby: I had to wait 30 years to understand what a hobby is - thanks to my wife, so I’m trying to find some now.

13. Apart of temptation what can’t you resist?

Desserts.

14. Red wine or white?

Red.

15. Book or movie?

Book, definitely.

16. Morning person or night person?

Night.

17. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?
Social exclusion and child poverty.


18. Buda or Pest side?

Margaret Island.

19. Which achievement in your life are you most pleased about?

To be brave enough not to reply with a false answer as the real one would be very personal.
