Puja Agarwala, Vice President in Valuation Control, Citibank
Puja is originally from India and currently based in Budapest, where she works with Citibank as Vice President in Valuation Control. She has been part of the finance industry since 2016.

Outside of work, she is someone who genuinely enjoys dancing, reading books and meeting new people. Puja always enjoyed bringing people together, so she naturally gravitated towards organizing and planning events as the head of treasury and role of cultural head in university. She always believed in helping where she can, even in small everyday moments.

Puja is also a strong advocate for education. Having pursued an MBA, along with professional certifications like FRM and SCR, she truly values continuous learning and personal growth. She looks forward to contributing in ways that make a positive impact.

1. When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?

I moved to Hungary for my job in February 2022  ❄️ 

2. Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?

I have lived in a lot of places before in India but it is my first time living outside the country.

3. What surprised you most about Hungary?

How underrated it is, it’s a beautiful country.

4. Friends are in Budapest for the weekend - what must they absolutely see and do? 

Walk near the Danube at night when the bridges, parliament, castle is lit up; try some Hungarian food at one of those red/white table cloths decorated restaurants; just walk around the city to absorb the architecture.

5. What is your favourite Hungarian food?

As a vegetarian I would say the cottage cheese pasta and Melegszendvics.

6. What is never missing from your refrigerator?

Milk and Spices (Go back to my Intro 😊)

7. What is your favourite Hungarian word?

Nem Tudom (That was easy :P)

8. What do you miss most from home? 

Warmth of my Family & Friends.

9. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?

Investigator

10. What's a job you would definitely never want?

Surgeon

11. Where did you spend your last vacation?

Greece

12. Where do you hope to spend your next holiday?

Either in Kenya or Peru.

13. Apart from temptation what can't you resist?

Having a good time.

14. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?

The Pursuit of Happyness.

White

16. Books or films?

I love watching movies but nothing beats the smell of a book.

17. Morning person or night person?

Neither, I am super active throughout the day as I long as I get my 11 to 7 sleep.

18. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?

Social Inequality & Right to Education.

19. Buda or Pest?

I love Buda specially Normafa in winter, it is so beautiful.

20. What would you say is your personal motto?

Always believe in Magic, what is meant for you will never pass you (sounds delusional, but works! And feeds you inner child with joy)
