After a year-long closure due to a devastating fire - thankfully with no injuries - the iconic Silvanus Hotel has triumphantly reopened. At the heart of this remarkable recovery stands Róbert Pintér, who led the complex restoration process with relevant expertise and determination.

A seasoned professional with extensive leadership experience in Hotel Operations Management, he brings a calm head and clarity to crisis situations.  His extensive experience includes previously serving as a CEO, and he has a solid background in Food & Beverage and Hotel Maintenance.

Beyond the hotel, he’s a devoted family man, proud father to two-year-old Blanka, and an avid runner and basketball enthusiast who stays grounded and energised through sport.

Overall he says he brings an "established and steady mindset to both personal and professional situations, with a strong ability to navigate and manage human interactions".

1. Where did you grow up?

I come from Pilismarót, which is a lovely village in the heart of the Danube bend.

2. If you could be an expat anywhere in the world, where would you choose?

I would definitely choose Italy, for endless reasons … like people, geography, desire, food, simle for that style of life.

3. What would you miss most if you moved away from Hungary?

The longing feeling about my homeland. Then the Danube bend. And of course, my family.

4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do?

Absolutely watch the sunset from the south pole of Margaret Island (sorry, but as far as I'm concerned, never much of the Danube) and sure to have a specialty coffee in the Central Market Hall.

5. What is your favourite food?

Clear meat soup and breaded pork slices with mashed potatoes, each from my mother’s kitchen.

6. What is your favourite sport / form of exercise?

My favourite sport is a basketball and my favourite exercise is the long distance running.

7. What is your favourite place in Hungary?

The Danube bend, especially riverside of Pilismarót.

8. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?

Agricultural career, because my family has been running our agricultural (crop and farming) company for ages.

9. What’s a job you would definitely never want?

Building engineering and these type of contractor works.

10. Where did you spend your last vacation?

Italy of course, in Palermo, Sicily.

11. Where do you hope to spend your next one?

Italy, in Jesolo with my lovely daughter and my wife.

12. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?

Film: Bud Spencer movies; Band: System of a Down; Hobby: Bodybuilding.

13. Apart of temptation what can't you resist?

To ride my motorbike as much as I can.

White.

Movie.

16. Morning person or night person?

Morning.

17. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?

Political extremism.

18. Buda or Pest side?

Pest side.

19. Which achievement in your life are you most pleased about?

To get a hotel director job in Budapest.

20. What would you say is your personal motto?

“The goal is worth nothing if the road is not important”.
