State Institutions Get Electric Vehicles

Twenty-six electric vehicles were handed over to state institutions, such as the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the National Ambulance Service, at a ceremony. Economy Minister Mihály Varga said his ministry had cooperated with the Public Procurement Supply Directorate on a centralised order for 200 EVs this year.

The Embassy of Ireland, in cooperation with the Széchenyi Academy of Letters and Arts, is organising a screening of In the Name of Peace: John Hume in America. The documentary film, directed and produced by Maurice Fitzpatrick, looks at Nobel Laureate John Hume’s successful pursuit of peace in Northern Ireland through his co-operation with senior politicians in the United States.
Synagogue Designated For European Heritage Title

The synagogue on Dohány utca is listed among nine other locations designated to receive a European Heritage title, the PMO told the state news agency on Tuesday. Hungary would now have three locations, including the PanEuropean Picnic Memorial Park and the Academy of Music on the list comprised of emblematic sites.

The Hungarian state has presented Finland with a Bogányi piano to mark the 100th anniversary of Finland’s independence. The piano was presented in a ceremony in Budapest, following talks between House Speaker László Kövér, and Maria Lohela, his Finnish counterpart.
