'Hungarian Revolution Anniversary' In Budapest, 15 March 2009

On 15th March Hungarians commemorate the Revolution and the following War of Independence against the Austrian-Habsburg rule in 1848-49, and so this is one of the most prominent National Holidays in Hungary.

Ronald Alexander Mollinger, the Dutch Ambassador in Budapest, welcomed 100's of guests, including many fellow ambassadors, to his residence in the Buda Hills to celebrate the official birthday of Queen Beatrix of The Netherlands.

From midnight April 7 until April 30, Magyar Telekom (T-Com, T-Mobile), Pannon and Vodafone customers can donate HUF 200 to help Hungarian flood victims by making a call or sending an SMS to a 1749 helpline number.

This charity networking event for the international community in Hungary was held by XpatLoop with the support of Zwack Unicum and Herend Porcelain - all entrance fees were donated in their entirety to the UNICEF Tsunami appeal.
