More than 1,300 professionals have registered for the conference. About 60% are foreigners, arriving from 41 countries.

The World Music Expo (Womex) to be hosted by Budapest this autumn has attracted a record number of over 1,000 applications by the April 10 deadline, organiser and Womex jury member Balázs Weyer said. A total of 70 performers and bands will be selected for the event to be held in Budapest from October 21 to 25, Balazs Weyer of Hangveto (SoundSower) music distribution company said.

An increase in the number of applications began first in 2013 and the trend is expected to continue this year, Zsuzsanna Végh told public TV channel M1.
