Greenpeace protested with a fake life-size polar bear at Shell’s Budapest headquarters on Tuesday. The “bear” walked into the office asking to see the boss. Greenpeace is conducting a global campaign to stop Shell from drilling for oil in the northern polar region.

Budapest Airport Turns To The Constitutional Court Over Land Tax

Budapest Airport has submitted a petition to the Constitutional Court of Hungary, as the airport operator believes that it has been the subject of a disproportionately large increase in land tax this year. Budapest Airport’s view is that the sudden and disproportionate increase in local land tax violates constitutional principles.

Étienne Méhul (1763–1817), one of the most significant and influential opera composers during the French revolution and the politically turbulent decades thereafter, wrote some forty works for musical theatre. Enjoying the confidence of his friend and rival Luigi Cherubini, and even of Napoleon, Méhul expanded the range of themes adaptable to the opera genre, enriching its musical landscape.

The media authority NMHH yesterday withdrew the broadcasting rights of radio station Neo FM, although it has no right to do so, owner FM1 Kommunikációs said. The company sought bankruptcy protection on Tuesday, meaning that the NMHH has no rights to cancel its contract, FM1 argued.
