Paul Fox was appointed the UK's Ambassador to Hungary in September 2020. Previously he was Minister Counsellor in Moscow and Her Majesty’s Consul General to Dubai.

Mr. Dyer joined The British International School, Budapest as Principal in 2015. Before moving to Hungary he started as a mathematics teacher in London, then headed overseas in 1986. He held leadership positions in five different British international schools in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Vietnam over a period of 30 years.

The British Ambassador represents Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as well as the UK government in Hungary. The Queen awarded him an OBE (Order of the British Empire) in 2002, a highly distinguished achievement of chivalry.

I first visited Budapest in 1982. I came with some friends on the overnight train from Warsaw, where I was working at the British Embassy. Howling dogs and misty border crossings - it was like living in a John le Carré novel. Budapest was shrouded in freezing fog all weekend but I still fell in love with the city.
