State energy company MVM will buy German investor RWE’s 49.83% stake in Budapest gas distributor Fõgáz, according to reports. A high ranking RWE representative met state officials and Budapest mayor István Tarlós last week, as the city owns 50% of the company. Retail shareholders have 0.17% of Fõgáz shares.

The United States has released a statement that "strongly condemns the shameful event organized by Jobbik, a Hungarian political party identified with ethnic hatred and anti-Semitism, to unveil a bust honoring Nazi ally Miklos Horthy, Hungary’s leader during World War II, at the entrance to the Hungarian Reformed Church at the edge of Szabadsag ter in Budapest on November 3".

As they do every year, this year's results introduce new categories, new hotels and re-ordered lists of the world's best destinations. Budapest came in second place, "Everything about Budapest was entrancing." It seems most of the reviewers agreed with this feedback about this beautiful European city.
