On Sunday 31 January, Müpa and the Budapest Festival Orchestra will be presenting their ninth music Marathon; the concerts start early and will fill Müpa’s concert halls non-stop into the evening. For the first time, the Marathon will feature not one but two composers: the great romantics, Mendelssohn and Schumann.

World and Olympic champion swimmer László Cseh and world champion swimmer Katinka Hosszú have been elected Hungary’s Athletes of the Year 2015 by the country’s sports journalists. Former manager of the Hungarian national team Pál Dárdai, who is currently the coach for Germany’s Hertha BSC, was elected the top coach of the year.

In this dance theatre version of the story by István Fekete, the familiar figures come to life: Karak, Vahur, Tás, "Smooth-skin” and many other characters, as well as Vuk himself, whose playful and lively nature is something with which all children can identify. The little fox discovers life through crafty escapades and adventures, and with the help of some tender loving care.

Following on from The Magic Flute and Orpheus and Eurydice, the Yvette Bozsik Company once again adapts a large-scale opera for the dance stage: on this occasion, it presents Carl Orff's 1949 musical setting of Sophocles' tragedy Antigone. In the drama that serves as the basis for the work, Antigone's brothers die by each other's hand.
