This fall, celebrating the forthcoming 10th birthday of Vitéz Kürtős, we’ve decided to host the 1st Chimney Cake Festival, which would be an event in every respect perfect for establishing a tradition. Nowadays the chimney cake is an indispensable element of every festival and culinary event, so now it’s high time to organize a festival where the main role is played by the chimney cake.

This year, 20 August celebrations will be held under the slogan “The country – together as one”. A special feature of this year’s events is that the series of programmes Nagyon Balaton (Very Balaton!) will include colourful family events, concerts and fireworks in several towns along the shores of Lake Balaton to commemorate the foundation of the Hungarian State.

Honey Brittle Cake from Milota (a small village in Hungary) was the winner of the "Cake of Hungary" (Ország Tortája) competition this year. One can have the pleasure to taste the delicious cake during the Magyar Izek Utcaja (Street of Hungarian Flavours) event on the 19th and 20th of August. All the favourites will be around to entertain everyone: have a go at beating the goalie, or maybe go home with a great raffle prize, get facepainted, or practice your juggling skills, enjoy a hotdog off the BBQ, or try some of the nice cakes the parents prepare!

As a fresh IT engineer graduate I became a product manager at Matáv (today Magyar Telekom). I took part in product development projects preparing for the market liberalisation, then became a manager of main business processes development.
