Street food and 'Carnival Dishes' will also feature at Budapest's 2nd Doughnut Festival. Hungarian wine, pálinka, beer, and cocktails will be available to wash down the tasty treats.

The history of this festival of flowers dates back to the beginning of the last century: in September 1900 the Debreczen Civil Bicycle Association organised a bicycle competition on the association’s new field. The highlight of the competition – reported the newspaper of the age – was a large-scale flower corso.

Budapest hosts one of the most colourful series of cultural events of the year every June. Annually the Danube Carnival presents a wide range of 'phenomenal programs' at several spots around the city - where guests can enjoy folk, symphonic and world music, traditional and contemporary dance, and colourful folklore performances by the various participating countries.

"Torkos" (literally Gluttonous) Thursday is a great opportunity to enjoy local food at half the usual price. 'Fat Thursday', as it is also known, is a traditional Catholic Christian feast marking the last Thursday before Lent, and is associated with Carnival celebrations.
Busó Festival In Mohács, 23 - 25 February

According to local legend, 'devils' still come on boats from the Island of Mohács. After arriving they proceed to Kóló Square , and then all parade through the streets, mixing with the audience along the way.

The patron of the 21st Csángó Festival is Dr. János Áder, the President of Hungary. This is the Budapest festival for Csángó Hungarians, and the event has international connections as The Pro Minoritate Foundation and the Csángó Cultural Association of Moldva are involved with organising this uniquely colourful and entertaining festival at Millenáris Park on Saturday, 18th February at 19.00.
