Construction Sector Output Declines By 17.6% In July

Output of Hungary’s construction industry dropped by an annual 17.6% in July, the Central Statistical Office said. The decline followed twelve-month decreases of 16.2% in June and 25.8% in May. Output of the buildings segment rose by 1.0%, mainly on the construction of industrial buildings, but also lifted by the construction of schools and sports facilities.
Guest Nights Up 8.2% In July

The number of guest nights in Hungarian hotels and guesthouses rose by 8.2% year on year to 4,270,000 in July, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said. Guest nights spent by Hungarians were up 9.8% at 2,420,000. Guest nights spent by foreign visitors rose by 6.2 % to 1,849,000.

CPI dropped on a 4.1% fall in prices for the category of goods that includes vehicle fuel. Food prices were up by 0.6%, the price of alcohol and tobacco climbed by 1.9% and service prices rose by 1.1%.
