By BBJ: The Confucius Institute and the University of Szeged in southeastern Hungary, yesterday signed a declaration of intent to establish a China center, which would focus on education, innovation and foreign relations, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.

Hungary could become a member of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in the second half of this year, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said. Hungary will not be a founding member but has applied to be an ordinary member, he told MTI after the list of founding members was finalised.

There continues to be no evidence to prove that the remains of 19th century poet Sándor Petõfi were found in Barguzin, Siberia, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences emphasized on Wednesday. The Academy told state news agency MTI that there were several shortcomings found in connection with a DNA test recently conducted in China.
