The 22nd edition of the Titanic International Film Festival will run between 10-18 April in Budapest but the pre-festival events start already in March. The cabinet has decided to extend the ban on Sunday retail activity, to take effect on 15 March, to world heritage sites, government spokesman András Giró-Szász has said. In addition to large areas in central Budapest, the decision will affect the towns of Sátoraljaújhely, Szerencs, Sárospatak and Tokaj in the Tokaj historical wine region in northeastern Hungary.

Hungarian director Károly Mészáros’s first cinema film, the absurd romantic comedy Liza, The Fox-Fairy, has won the main prize and the award for the best visual effects at the thirty-fifth Fantasporto international film festival, held in Porto, Portugal. It is the first time in the festival’s 35-year history that the main prize, named Fastasporto Grand Prix, has gone to a Hungarian movie.
