Despite her young age, Moscow-born Alexandra Soumm is one of the most renowned and sought-after soloists today. She won the in-house competition of the Vienna Conservatory in 2002, before going on to win the Eurovision Young Musicians competition in Lucerne in 2004. Anton Bruckner’s (unfinished) Symphony No. 9 as well as the anthem of faith and hope, the Te Deum will be performed on 4th December. The Austrian composer could not even complete his swansong, and had written just three out of four movements before his death in 1896.
