Several opposition parties have spoken out against Parliamentary Speaker László Kövér’s decision to equip the Parliamentary Guard with electroshock weapons or tasers. The number of chain-smokers in Hungary has increased, reports Hungarian newspaper Magyar Nemzet. According to the data provided by the Central Statistical Office, while the number of cigarette smokers decreased from 31 percent in 2009 to 29 percent in 2014, the number of chain-smokers increased in 2014 to 28 percent of all smokers from 27 percent in 2009.

President János Áder has sent his condolences over the recent earthquake in Nepal to his counterpart Ram Baran Yadav. “Allow me to express my heartfelt condolences to the families of all those who lost their lives this weekend.
