Hungary’s government is preserving the value of pensions and making sure decent jobs are available, the Economy Ministry said late on Tuesday in response to a demonstration outside its main building. The statues of the memorial to the victims of German occupation were lifted into place on Szabadság tér shortly after midnight on Saturday night amidst a heavy police presence.
