Whisky is becoming more and more popular, appealing to a wider audience, as well as to connoisseurs. So it was no surprise that the 6th Whisky Show held in the beautiful Corinthia Hotel was thriving. It was a fitting location for an international drink and the audience to go with it.

The CAFe Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival presents some of the greatest contemporary performers from Hungary and abroad, including Yann Tiersen, Hiromi, Plaid and the Southbank Gamelan Players, Squarepusher’s project band, Shobaleader One, Krzysztof Penderecki, Yellowjackets, the FAMILIE FLÖZ and Krisztián Gergye’s Company.

Our planet is heating up. Glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, and extreme weather events like droughts, cyclones and floods are becoming more common. All of these events have two things in common: 1) they have the worst effect on the world’s poorest people, many of whom work as farmers, and make it harder for them to grow food, and 2) they threaten the global goal to end hunger by 2030.

President János Áder and Parliamentary Speaker László Kövér sent condolences over the earthquake that claimed at least 120 lives in central Italy in the early hours on Wednesday. In his telegram to Italian President Sergio Mattarella, Áder expressed sympathy with families of the victims and with those who have lost their homes, the president’s office said.
