"Hungarian gymnast Henrietta Ónódi has been inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame. She is the second Hungarian ever to receive this honour. The first was Ágnes Keleti (89), the winner of ten Olympic medals, including five gold.

"Ambassador Eleni Kounalakis made an outreach visit to the city of Eger on Tuesday, April 20, 2010. She began her program by attending the “America Day” event hosted by the István Dobó high school. After being briefed on the academic program of the school she met with 300 students in the school gym, where she encouraged them to sudy in the United States.

Parents set up international food stalls in the gym for homemade Belgian waffles, Canadian pancakes with real maple syrup, Indian mango lassi, etc. Elswehere there was a huge used book sale to benefit the librarian's pet project, a dog shelter, where I located a dvd (Hearts in Atlantis), and a book ...

Dr. György Bárándy is one of the most distinguished lawyers in Hungary. Born in 1919, his family made a living from agricultural activities on their land in the vicinity of Törökszentmiklós, in the Northern Great Plain region of central Hungary. He completed his legal studies in the Collegium Juridicum, Foglarianum in Eger, and obtained his doctoral degree in Kolozsvár (Cluj-Napoca).
