Protest in Balatonalmádi Against Planned Privatisation of State-Owned Lake Balaton Properties
Civil groups staged a protest in Balatonalmádi on Sunday against the planned privatisation of state-owned Lake Balaton properties, including the Balatonalmádi Postás holiday resort.

The demonstration aimed to halt sales by the Hungarian National Asset Management of the resort and other state-owned properties suitable for community use, the president of the Together for Our Town (Varosunkert Kozosen) association said in a speech at the event.

Andras Benedict, citing a joint statement from Balaton-based associations and civil groups, demanded that the asset manager develop practices and procedures, based on broad societal consultation, for all current and future state-owned properties slated for sale, ensuring compliance with constitutional principles.
