A New Hungarian Badacsony-Style Dish Is Born

The “fish-filled pasta Badacsony style” has been selected to represent the gastronomy of the Badacsony region, so the fine wines of Badacsony may finally be served with a genuine Badacsony-style dish.

Tahitótfalu villagers have several decades of tradition and experience in growing strawberries. At the beginning of the twentieth century strawberries were transported by a special type of ship, the so-called "Kofa ship" ("kofa" meaning a loud elderly lady selling her produce on the marketplace).

On a lovely sunny afternoon in Buda, we went along to the Rosalia Rosé wine festival. In “Gesztenyés kert” and on the terrace of the chic Larus Restaurant, a wide variety of wines, red, white and especially rosés, was waiting for wine-lovers. They ranged from “natural”, ice, bio to more quality mainstream.

While New York Pizza is still tops in my book, there is a new kid on the block and they are getting a lot of things right. A Presto Pizza and Pasta opened its doors just a couple months ago at Hajos u. 13 just across from the Opera House and a few doors down from Treehugger Dan's.

Who didn’t feverishly ride their bikes to the Penny Candy Store at every chance and buy sweets with grubby hands and hungry eyes?
